How Does Video Conferencing Work?
The video conference system works much like a webcam you would use on the computer. The digital images are relay into the phone line where it changes to voice data until it reaches the connect party, where it is then changed back to digital format. This happens so quickly that you never miss a thing. New technology has improved the exchange of images over the phone lines with up to the second relays. Some webcams you see have a delay, this has been addressed with new technology, allowing for second to second conferencing. Now you see what is happening as it is happening. The voice and images are not delayed, everything is simultaneous. For some who do not understand the technology of video conference calls, you might find it impossible to believe that this technology is reliable. Take for instance Skype or Yahoo messenger. You can conference call with these two systems with voice only. You will here all parties talking at the same time if that is what is occurring. Now you add video to the package and you are see images while conversing. If it can be done on the Internet, it can be done on your phone.
If you have an international call to make and have the need for video conference, all you do is start the equipment and dial the number. Once the other party picks up with their system activated, you will see that person immediately. The nice thing about this type of technology is that you are sure you are really talking to the person you want to be talking to at the time. If you see the person, you feel a personal connection rather than imagining the person you are talking to on the other end. This is great for overseas interviews for job positions. More stations and companies are opting to interview over the phone rather than have traveling expenses. If a business wants to conduct an interview, video conference equipment will allow them to see you as a person and observe you as they conduct the interview. This could in the long run, cut down on any surprises down the road. It is easier to judge someone you can see rather than someone you cannot see. As you can see, this type of communication pays for itself within a year or less. You save on other expenses related to you personal and business needs. |
